PCM’s boys’ basketball squad has won four of the last five games to begin the second half of the season, and that is due to having much more practice time than in the first half of the year.

From November 30 to December 21, the Mustangs played 11 of their 21 games, and had very little practice time to correct issues on the court. PCM has beaten Earlham, South Hamilton, Saydel, and Greene County since January began, with their lone loss coming to Pella January 10th. With the final five games just around the corner, Coach Fred Lorenson says that the practice time with his squad makes them a better team.

“I’ve talked a lot of times about our pre-Christmas schedule. We had four practices the whole time once we started playing our first game and we had four practices between the last game and this one. What a difference it is.”

PCM’s homestretch begins Friday night in the second half of a Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader at Perry.
