Unemployment rates slightly increased locally last month, according to county-by-county data released by Iowa Workforce Development this week.
In Marion County, 2.1% unemployment was reported in December, close to the 2% reported in November. There are 18,050 individuals working, and 390 receiving benefits and seeking work. One year ago, the rate was 3% locally.
In Warren County, 2.4% unemployment was reported in December, slightly higher than 2.2% in November. The number of employed residents is at 27,400 and 700 individuals are considered unemployed but seeking work. One year ago, the rate was 3.5% locally.
