The Knoxville Public Library will start February Chess Hour on Wednesday February 2nd. The program is for 3rd-8th graders, and no registration in advance is needed. Youth Services Librarian Holly Shelford tells KNIA/KRLS News that the program is open to all skill levels.
“We will have chess boards available, and they can meet up with their friends and play some competitive games of chess. It is open to beginners as well as advanced players. We have some kids who have been coming for years. We did have to take last year off because of COVID, so we are excited to get that started back up, but we usually play for about an hour to an hour and a half.”
February Chess Hour will be held every Wednesday in February at the library at 3:30 p.m.
