The Knoxville Recreation Center is in need of lifeguards, but Aquatics Supervisor Olivia Crawford tells KNIA/KRLS News the need for lifeguards is not affecting the pool activities at the Recreation Center.

“We are in a little bit of a labor shortage with our lifeguarding staff, but we still have hours of the pool that we try to accommodate as many people as possible Whether you want to swim laps, or walk, or get your kids in for swimming lessons, or just come have them play in the water, we have all those things available still.

Crawford added that lifeguard training will take place in April and June. There will be two classes in April and one class in June. If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard, go to the Knoxville Recreation Center to register for one of the three classes.
