Simpson forward Jenna Taylor crossed another milestone in her career Monday night on the road at Luther, passing 1,500 career points as the Storm won 85-49. The #5 Storm built a massive 34-11 first quarter lead then grew the advantage to 35 as they led 60-25 at the halftime break, allowing them to rest the starters and coast to victory. Taylor scored 26 points to lead the team shooting 6-10 from long range.
The Storm men once again couldn’t muster enough offense to keep pace despite a strong defensive effort as they fell 55-48. Simpson stuck with the Norse throughout the contest, but shot only 30% overall and 4-23 from deep. Tajen Ross scored 23 points to lead the squad.
Both teams will have a rematch with the Norse on Saturday.
