The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad fell to Grinnell on Monday night 67-52. The Panthers started off good enough playing even with the Tigers after one quarter of play tied at 17, but the Panthers went cold and turned the ball over in the middle two quarters and found themselves down by as much as 25 points. Knoxville was without starter Noah Keefer, who was and will likely be out for the time being with a sprained ankle suffered in the victory over Centerville on Friday. Coach Troy Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that limits what his team can do, but is confident that others can step up to fill the role.
Pearson: “That limits us a little bit, that’s doing things with confidence. We have other guys that can do different things. Carson can step out and shoot the three, Koby can drive, and others who can do different things, we just have to get the right pieces together.”
Landen Norris scored 11 points to lead Knoxville. The Panthers are now 4-12 on the season and will join the girls tonight in Albia for the final South Central Conference games of the season. Listen live on 95.3 KNIA starting at 6:15.
