Following Saturday’s performance at the Iowa High School Music Association State Festival, the Pella Jazz bands are gearing up for the stretch run.

The defending 3A championship band looks forward to the upcoming group of shows that lead up to the Iowa Jazz Championships.

Both Pella Jazz I and Jazz Orchestra qualified — the first time the school is sending two bands to the event at Iowa State University in Ames. The two bands earned Division I superior ratings at this past weekend’s state festival, and Pella Jazz Ensemble earned a Division II mark.
