A local student was crowned Iowa’s Miss Amazing Teen Queen this past weekend. The state organization held its annual pageant in Des Moines.
Ellie Wiskus was one of six Iowans selected to represent the state in Nashville this summer for the national Miss Amazing pageant. She follows in the footsteps of fellow Pella graduate Bella Van Gorp, who was ultimately selected as national runner-up in the same category as Ellie last summer as the 2020 Teen Queen representative — her journey was delayed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wiskus has participated in the organization’s event for its decade of existence. She is a member of Pella Forte and the Pella Golf Team, and remains highly involved in school and in projects outside of the building, including her assistance with the Wonder Spelen organization and the miracle playground at Kiwanis Park.
Miss Amazing is a nonprofit organization on a mission to provide opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to build confidence and self-esteem.
