Bondurant-Farrar took control early and dominated the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad on Thursday 74-39 in a game heard live win 95.3 KNIA. The Blue Jays built a lead to 34 at the halftime break and enacted running clock for the remainder of the game moments into the 3rd quarter. The Panthers tried a few new wrinkles but never could keep up with the more athletic Blue Jays. Coach Matt Ritchhart told KNIA/KRLS Sports it was hard for the girls to stay with a team that had that much athletic ability.
Ritchhart: “When you have that level across the board it’s hard to be ready to play. We know they would press and the kind of defense they would run, and it’s easier said than done.”
Larissa Wells led the Panthers with 12 points, Emma Dunkin was also in double figures with 11. The Panthers fall to 9-9 on the season and will prepare for a trip to Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday in a match up with Newton.
