The Central College wrestling team defeated Luther College 31-9 to earn a victory on Senior Night Thursday.

Senior Shandon Akeo recorded seven takedowns in his 133-pound match before registering a fall with four seconds left. Representing the Dutch in a home dual for the first time in his career, senior Cooper Stigsell snagged a 15-2 major decision at 174 pounds. Senior Samuel Zook won the final match of the night by injury default. Fellow Senior Rob Areyano won with a first-period pin at 149 pounds while Brock Beck at 141 pounds, Colby Tool at 165 pounds, and Peyton Hammerich at 184 pounds all won by decision.

Central is now 9-4 on the season with a 4-3 record in American Rivers Conference matches. Central wrestling next competes in a triangular next Wednesday at William Penn University against the hosts and Schreiner University (Texas).
