A Pella man faces felony charges for alleged distribution of meth following an arrest in Harvey. Christopher Lee Riley, 40, faces a controlled substance violation, a class B felony. According to court records, the Mid Iowa Narcotics Task Force and U.S. Marshals asked the Marion County Sheriff’s Office for assistance in locating Riley for arrest warrants. Riley was found in Harvey, and a subsequent search located a sock filled with items later determined to be a white crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Riley has previously been arrested and had violated probation several times, relating back to a 2015 sting conducted by the Pella Police Department. He pled guilty to a Class C felony controlled substance violation related to possession of meth, and was released on parole in 2019 after he was sentenced to prison in 2017 for violating terms of his probation.
