The unusual week for the Knoxville Basketball Squads comes to an end at the place where every high school basketball team wants to end their season, Wells Fargo Arena. While it is a regular season game, both Knoxville boys and girls will make a fun trip and try to get two wins over Newton. Girls Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that while they want to enjoy the experience, their goal is to get a win and stop a four game losing streak.

Ritchhart: “It’s going to be a fun environment, and it’s special. I told them, I’m glad you had fun tonight, but we’re going up there to get a win, and they come from the Little Hawkeye Conference, where you only get better, so they will not be intimidated against you.”

For the boys, Coach Troy Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Newton will make you play a physical and sometimes not so pretty style of basketball.

Pearson: “They’re just physical, they grind on you, they’re strong and they are going to make you play physical whether you want to or not.”
