The shorthanded Pella Christian bowling teams were swept Saturday on Senior Day by Newton. The Eagles had several bowlers out Saturday for the state speech contest. The Eagle boys fell to Newton 2464-1909, while the girls were defeated 2238-1784. Jack Zula led the Eagles boys’ squad with a two-game score of 281, followed by Zaylor Rus at 265 and Austin Moorman at 250. Alexa Klaasen led the way for Pella Christian girls with a two-game score of 303, followed by Dani Roose at 258 and Abi Maldonado with a score of 210. Both Eagles teams fell to 1-6 on the year to wrap up regular season action for the 2021-22 season. The Eagles next compete at Newton for the conference meet on Thursday at 9:00 am.
