The final doubleheader for Pleasantville’s basketball squads will be a home West Central Conference doubleheader against Interstate-35.
The Trojans’ girls are coming off their most dominant win of the season, winning 72-38 over ACGC Friday night. Pleasantville has won two of the last three games, including beating Woodward-Granger last Tuesday. Pleasantville won the first matchup between the two teams back on January 7th, winning 43-39. Two achievements are under watch for Pleasantville as the season nears its conclusion. Malorie McKinney is on the verge of breaking the school record for most blocks in a season. Rachel Harvey is closing in on having the most career assists in school history. With a win, the Trojans would finish with 12 wins on the season, the most by a Pleasantville team since they went 14-8 in 2010-11. A win would also put Pleasantville at .500 in West Central Conference play, which would be the first team they achieved that since 2017-18.
The Trojans’ boys had their four-game winning streak snapped Friday night against ACGC, losing 59-57. Pleasantville’s Mason Scheve is on the verge of another historic achievement, as he currently sits seven points behind Mike Collins for fifth all-time and 14 behind Trever Zoss for fourth all-time in career points scored. The Trojans won the first matchup between the two squads, dominating the Roadrunners 67-28. With a win, Pleasantville would achieve 12 wins in a season, the most for a Pleasantville team since they went 17-6 in 2017-18. The Trojans will also have an above-.500 West Central Conference record for the first time since 2017-18.
The doubleheader at Pleasantville gets underway with the girls’ game tipping off at 6:15 PM. The games will be broadcast on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com with Alex Koch on the call.
