The Pella Christian basketball teams split in Oskaloosa to wrap up the final road doubleheader of the winter season, with the #6 in 2A Eagles boys running away with a 71-45 victory and the girls falling 48-29, as heard live on 92.1 KRLS.
Pella Christian opened the boys contest with defense turning into fast-paced offense, including a trio of Levi Schelhaas threes. The Eagles never trailed and expanded their lead throughout the evening with balanced offense. Eric Mulder had a six-dunk, six-blocked shot performance, with Schelhaas scoring 19, Tysen DeVries scoring 10, and Aiden Stoltz adding nine.
The opposite story rang true in the girls contest, as Oskaloosa pulled out to an early lead and the Eagles offense never broke the home team’s zone defense. Pella Christian was led by 11 points from Faith Kacmarynski.
The Eagles boys improve to 15-5 overall and 9-4 in the conference, while the girls drop to 3-17 and 1-12 against league foes. Both P.C. teams host Pella on Eagle Lane Thursday.
