The final doubleheader of the season for PCM’s basketball squads ended in a split against South Hamilton.

 

The Mustangs’ girls ended the regular season with a loss to the Hawks, 55-35. PCM gave up 55 points in both matchups between the two squads. PCM finishes the regular season with a 6-16 record and a 5-9 record in Heart of Iowa Conference play. Addison Steenhoek led the way in scoring for the Mustangs, knocking in 13 points. Addison’s sister, Paige, was second on the team in scoring with nine.

 

The Mustangs’ boys got back in the win column with a 53-41 victory over the Hawks. PCM completes the season sweep of South Hamilton. With the win, PCM improves to 12-8 on the season and 9-4 in Heart of Iowa Conference play. The 12 wins and nine conference wins by PCM are the most in a season since 2017-18.

 

PCM’s boys will have one final game this season, a showdown at Heart of Iowa Conference foe Nevada. The Mustangs’ girls will now prepare for their playoff showdown Saturday night at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
