Knoxville is continuing its expansion and the growth is presenting the city council with challenges. City Manager Heather Ussery tells KNIA/KRLS News that the council is trying to plan for an increased need in public staffing.
“We’re kind of in uncharted territory right now. We’ve worked within the realm of where we currently are and where Knoxville has been for so long, but seeing so much potential development happening, we’re going to have to be very keen on not being reactive to those changes and being able to potentially foresee those changes coming and making sure our staffing levels are adequate to continue those service levels.”
Department heads presented their staffing needs during the city council meeting on Monday night.
