The Melcher-Dallas Girls Basketball Squad wanted to keep it close, and it did but could not overcome Wayne on Thursday dropping a 47-37 class 1A regional game to the Falcons. The game was tied at 22 at the halftime break but Wayne outscored the Saints 25-15 in the 2nd half to pull away. Addison Wadle led Melcher-Dallas with 12 points while Brooklyn Metz scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Melcher-Dallas finishes 8-13 after an 0-6 start on the season. The boys will start their class 1A District tonight with an opening round game at BCLUW. The Saints have struggled this season with a 4-16 record. The Comets have also struggled to a 1-19 record finishing last in the North Iowa Cedar League. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00.
