The Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad left no doubt about the outcome of its game with Moulton-Udell last night as the Sabers rolled over the Eagles 87-34 in a class 1A District opening round game. Moulton-Udell played even for the first few minutes staying close with three point shooting, but the Sabers turned up the defense and the Eagles went cold and by the time the dust cleared the Sabers had rung up 54 first half points. Devin Arkema played his best game of his career scoring 44 points leading the Sabers in that department. Dallas Clarke had 16 and Kail Arkema scored 13. Coach Brad McWilliams told KNIA/KRLS Sports his team’s defensive effort was what made the game turn in his team’s favor.
McWilliams: “We were hoping if we got out early we could frustrate them, and I think we did frustrate them with turnovers. Again, it was a great effort by everybody.”
The Sabers are now 7-14 on the season and will advance to play district top seed Moravia on Monday.
