A bill that would ban vaccination and mask mandates at businesses, governmental entities and schools is making its way through the Iowa Legislature. State Representative Brooke Boden tells KNIA News the bill says you cannot deny someone services based on their immunization status, including refusal to hire. Boden said the bill targets COVID-19 measures, not other medical care.

“It doesn’t touch anything to do with scheduled childhood immunizations, it really focuses in on the COVID-19 side of things. And the fact that we were in a pandemic making decisions, and now it’s time to take pause and look at it from all angles. So I’m excited to see us really take an interest in making sure our medical freedom, just like our other freedoms, are protected and thought thoroughly through.”
