twin-cedars-4

The Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad fell to Moravia in the 2nd round of the class 1A district on Monday night 74-43. The Sabers were down big early trailing 51-16 at halftime. Twin Cedars finishes the season 7-15. It is the girls turn to take the court tonight in a second round class 1A regional contest at Lamoni. The Sabers and Demons know each other well as this will be the third time playing each other, with Lamoni taking the first two games during the regular season and the championship game of the Bluegrass Conference. Twin Cedars defeated Tri-County last week in a lackluster game but Coach Zack Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the defense that Tri-County applied is similar to what Lamoni will run tonight, and Dunkin says they have a few extra wrinkles to employ against Lamoni tonight.

Dunkin: “We’ve done some things differently, Albia applied a defense that we will likely see against Lamoni, and we’ll put in some things that hopefully they haven’t seen yet.”

Tip off from Lamoni will be at 7:00. The winner likely gets a trip to Martensdale-St. Mary’s on Friday.
