The Knoxville Community School District is inviting community members to take part in its second Leadership Academy tonight. The academy allows Knoxville Community Schools to provide an in-depth look at how the district operates, with a goal of providing paths to potential leadership for parents or guardians, parent-teacher organization participants, volunteers, school board members and community members. Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News that administration is looking forward to tonight’s event.
“One of the things that we found when we did our initial Leadership Academy last fall was that there’s so much information we can share about the school district that our regular community members probably don’t know. Each of the sessions went more than two hours just because people stuck around and wanted to ask more questions and it was really invigorating. We really appreciate all of the folks who attended our first academy, we’re looking forward to the second academy, and this is something that we’ll offer again in the fall as well.”
There is no cost to attend and dinner will be provided to all participants. To sign up for the Leadership Academy, reach out to the Knoxville Community School District Administration Building at (641) 842-6551 or go to this link. Below are the dates, times and locations for each of the sessions:
