The Pella City Council continued with the budget process for the next fiscal year at their meeting Tuesday. A public hearing was held for the maximum property tax revenue the City of Pella can receive and the maximum levy for property owners, which will remain at $10.20 per $1,000 of valuation.
Council also reviewed and approved the 2020-21 audit and established a public hearing for March 1st to consider formal approval of the fiscal year 2023 budget plan to the State of Iowa. The council also scheduled public hearings to transfer ownership of the northern block of Caldwell Park to the Pella Community School District on March 1st, for reconstruction of Bos Landen Drive and 250th Avenue on March 15th, and for a 15 kV medium voltage power cable on April 5th.
Following regular business, a presentation was given about the current status of Pella Community Ambulance, as well as an update regarding the review of the Library’s Collection and Development Policy by the Library Board of Trustees.
