The Norwalk High School girls basketball team will start their postseason journey today as they play host to the Newton Cardinals in the Class 4A Region 5 Quarterfinal.

The Warriors will look for their third win over the Cardinals this season and their 12th straight in the matchup dating back to 2017.

On paper tonight’s matchup should be an easy one for the Warriors who took care of Newton by 40 points in their first matchup and 31 in their last.

Norwalk will look to get their three top scores involved early in senior Jojo Bice, sophomore Ava Johnson and freshmen Bailey Birmingham and try to command the game from the start and deny Newton any chance of momentum.

The winner of tonight’s game will hit the road Saturday to face the Blue Jays of Bondurant-Farrar.
