The Simpson women’s basketball team continued their domination of American Rivers Conference opponents Wednesday evening in their last home contest, taking down the Prairie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan 96-46 while the men fell 75-66.
The Storm women dominated the first half, taking a 25-11 lead after the first and a 46-18 lead at halftime, and would not let up as they scored another 27 points in the third to build a 73-29 lead going into the final quarter. Cameron Kincaid led the squad with 14 points, one of four Storm players in double figures.
The Storm men built a 30-28 halftime lead against the Prairie Wolves, but gave up 47 second-half points and could not keep up offensively. The Storm shot just 5-30 from long range, and 11-20 from the free throw line. Tajen Ross led the squad with 19 points.
The Storm women are now 22-1 overall and 14-0 in conference play, while the men are 5-19 and 2-13 in conference play. Both Storm squads play at Central on Saturday to wrap up the regular season.
