It was simply a night that the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad would like to forget. The Panthers were never in the game with Fairfield on Thursday losing 72-32 as heard on 95.3 KNIA. The Trojans used a high pressure zone defense and forced 17 first half turnovers to jump ahead 32-15, and it continued to get worse from there. Coach Troy Pearson told KNIA/KRLS Sports it was a low energy and lackluster performance.
Pearson: “We had kids that didn’t shoot the ball that usually shoot it, we didn’t have the energy we needed on defense and we lacked energy to get back on transition.
Landen Norris scored seven points to lead Knoxville who dropped to 5-16 and will head to the class 3A Sub State taking on top seed Winterset on Monday.
