The Central College Basketball teams will renew a long-standing rivalry today as they host neighboring Simpson College in a women’s and men’s American Rivers Conference doubleheader.

The Dutch women are looking to break a 41-game losing streak to the Storm. Central still has an opportunity to crash the party in the American Rivers Conference tournament on Tuesday with an upset victory over Simpson, which would put them half a game ahead of Buena Vista University. The Central men on the other hand will be looking to stay out of the cellar against the Storm. The Dutch currently sit one game above Simpson for last place in the conference, thanks in large part to a 75-66 victory over the Storm last month. In addition to staying out of last place, the Dutch will be looking for fifth-year senior Caden Mauck to reach the 1,000-career point club, to become the 31st player in school history to achieve the milestone. Mauck currently sits at 996 career points ahead of his final game with the Dutch.

Action can be heard live on both 92.1 KRLS and 94.3 KNIA with Andrew Swadner and Tyler Crabb on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 1:45, and tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.
