The #4 Indianola girls basketball team begins postseason play tonight in the class 4A Region 5 semifinal hosting the Trojans of Fairfield. The Trojans defeated Oskaloosa 37-24 on Wednesday and bring a 13-8 record into this evening, winning four of their last six games.

The Indians have not lost since late January, and have won four in a row since dropping a game against #1 Dallas Center-Grimes, and bring back sophomore standout Kendall McDaniel who made her season debut last Friday against Norwalk after missing the majority of the season due to injury.

Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports McDaniel returning is a testament to her hard work, and brings another dimension for the Indians as she can score both inside the lane and beyond the three-point line.

The game can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 7:45, with tip-off at 8pm.
