Indianola Parks and Rec is hosting their next Afternoon Adventures Speaker Series in March, featuring the “Ghost Towns of Warren County” and speaker Dave Baker. Baker is a storyteller, photographer, essayist, and researcher who has visited nearly all of Iowa’s 99 counties and covered 1,200 former towns and village sites, Iowa’s ghost towns. The program will feature how post offices, railroads, and the Civil War impacted local areas in Warren County, including the communities of Greenbush, Conger, Lawrenceburg, Lothrop, Clarkson and more. The program is free and open to the public with no registration required, and takes place on March 1st at 2pm at the Indianola Activity Center.
