An update regarding construction in the Pella School District was given at the most recent Pella School Board meeting. Superintendent Greg Ebeling says a public hearing has been scheduled on March 7th for approval of a contract to construct new tennis courts, which was included as part of the voter-approved bond issue in November. Ebeling says the project will bring enhanced tennis courts and safer surroundings for fans, coaches, and athletes as it moves north from the current spot just north of University Street in Pella, which will also allow the City of Pella to straighten out that road as part of a planned reconstruction this summer. The Pella City Council will hold a public hearing on March 1st to donate that land to the Pella Community School District.
