All season long, defense was a big part of the Melcher-Dallas Girls Basketball Squad. It had to be because the Saints did not shoot the ball well. Shooting just 23% on the season Coach Kelsey Goff made defense a priority for her girls.

Goff : “We’re not the fastest team, we’re not going out there shooting 40-50% every game, so that’s why defense was such a priority and the girls did that and they improved and by the end of the season it was working.”

After an 0-6 start the Saints gained traction and finished the season 8-13…going 8-6 after the first six games this year.
