The Indianola School Board approved the plans for the construction of the District Auxiliary Building at their meeting Tuesday, which will house the IT department, transportation, food service, and buildings and grounds.
Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the district and Envision Architecture have done a good job of working with the needs of those four departments as well as planning ahead for the future, with bids expected to be received by March and move forward with the project in April.
The building will require the removal of the tennis courts on the south side of the Indianola Middle School to open up some green space areas that will be lost due to the building construction.
