The Marion County Development Commission is offering Red Rock Start Up, which is a new business pitch contest that gives opportunity for entrepreneurs and small business owners to fulfill their dreams of self-employment or expansion of their new current business. Director Carla Eysink tells KNIA/KRLS News, to enter, submit a video of up to four minutes pitching your business and a two page Executive Summary. Deadline to enter is tomorrow before 3:00pm. The pitch contest will be held April 7th  at the Gathering Grounds, where the finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas. In the Youth Division, sponsored by the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, the first-place winner will receive $500, second-place $250, and third place will receive $125. In the Adult Division, sponsored by the PACE Alliance, DMACC Business Resources and Marion County Development, the first-place winner will receive $2,500, second-place $1,000 and third place will receive $500.
