The 2021-22 season was highlighted by numerous individual records broken for Pleasantville’s girls’ basketball squad.
Three Trojans either tied or set school records in 2021-22. Adi Adreon tied a school record for most three-pointers in a game, and she did it twice. Adreon knocked down six three-pointers in a 47-30 victory over Lynnville-Sully December 20. She then followed that up with another six shots made from downtown against No. 4 in Class 2A Panorama the following game January 4.
Rachel Harvey set the school record for most career assists with 244, including three seasons of 70 assists or more. Harvey had 71 assists in 2021-22, despite missing the first two games with an ankle injury. Her season-high in assists this past season was seven in the team’s final victory of the season over ACGC.
Malorie McKinney also broke all three records in the blocks category for Pleasantville in 2021-22. McKinney first broke the career record for most blocks with 179. She then followed that up with an 88-block season in 2021-22. McKinney capped off her high school career with a nine-block performance in Pleasantville’s playoff matchup with Central Decatur.
She finished with a near-triple-double with 19 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocks.
Adreon, Harvey, and McKinney will leave Pleasantville with their name etched in Trojan lore.
