The Grand Theater in Knoxville will host a night of comedy tomorrow, February 26 from 7-9 pm. Des Moines area comedians Ian Pope, Dante Powell, and Sean Dengler will perform. Pope and Dingler tell KNIA/KRLS News about their creative processes.
“My desk is a mess. My pockets are a mess. I’m pulling out scraps all the time. On the drive down here I was writing about how doctors say you need to drink three liters of water a day and that seems daunting. I did the math and that converts to 88 shots. Suddenly it seems a lot more manageable.”
“One of the ways where my creative energy comes from is when I’m in the shower. My mind is somewhere else so my best bits come while I’m showering. Beyond that, I go to open mics. Open mics are like going to the gym and working out except your listening to people tell jokes.”
