The Knoxville Boys Basketball program has several things to get done in the offseason. One is to get physically stronger as the Panthers were outrebounded on several occasions this season. Coach Troy Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports not only do they have to get better physically, but the mental part of the improvement is also very important.
Pearson: “The mental toughness comes right along with the physical strength. I think when kids see that strength in the mirror at home they automatically become more mentally tough and more confident.”
Pearson also added maturity is also a key factor. The Panthers starting five was very young on most occasions with three sophomores and two freshmen in the starting line up. Knoxville finished the season this week in the first round of the class 3A substate with a 5-17 record.
