With the retirement of current Marion County Recorder Karen Schwanebeck, the Marion County Board of Supervisors passed a motion to inform intent to appoint a new recorder once the position becomes vacant. The date for the appointment has not been determined. This week Knoxville resident Naomi Ellis announced that she will be running for the Recorder position. Ellis told KNIA/KRLS why she wants to be the Recorder.
“Having been in the office for almost 13 and a half years I have the experience to be able to continue performing the job efficiently and effectively. I also have a heart for service and I have always enjoyed helping others.”
The Recorder’s position is on the June 7 primary election ballot
