The Twin Cedars Girls basketball Squad finished 16-8 this season with new coach Zack Dunkin. Dunkin was a late hire but had an advantage as he worked with many of the players that he will see this summer on the softball diamond. He tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that was an advantage in knowing the girls and how they would fit into his scheme.
Dunkin: “I knew what to expect from the roster due to the experience I had from softball. I think we did improve throughout the season, and It was different for me coaching basketball for the first time. I think we were able to do a lot of things we haven’t done recently, so nothing to complain about.”
Dunkin adds a slow start did not deter the girls from their accomplishments this season. The Sabers finished 4th in the Bluegrass Conference regular season race and made it to the conference tournament championship game.
