pleasantville-3

Two of the three Pleasantville state-qualifying wrestlers will be back for another season in 2022-23.

The Trojans sent Dillon Ammons, Caleb Cook, and Kitt Lundy to Wells Fargo Arena this past season. Of the three, Lundy will be the only one graduating. Lundy will join Brynn Miller, Amy Kish, Trevor Daggett, Devon Luing, and Jacob Hiemstra as the senior wrestlers that will be graduating. Lundy also joined Pleasantville lore, becoming the latest wrestler to crack 100 match wins. Cook and Ammons will come back as Pleasantville will look to reload for next season. Cook and Ammons both made their first state tournament appearance of their career in 2021-22. Coach Heath DeForest says that one particular player that took a big step forward this season was freshman Tommy Booth.

“Another kid to throw out there is freshman Tommy Booth. He came in with a lot of experience but wasn’t the guy right away. He was doing some kind of what I call little league-esque moves. It was kind of getting him into trouble and once he eliminated those things, he really matured throughout the year.”

With six seniors graduating, Pleasantville’s numbers for 2022-23 look strong, as they are scheduled to have more than ten wrestlers returning.
