The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad finished 5-17 this season. Most knew that it would be a building year for the Panthers and next season may be a building year as well. Coach Troy Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he knows the players want to get better, but they have to be the ones to initiate that road to success.

Pearson: “I could tell from the look in their eyes, they want to improve. They don’t want to be 5-17 again next year. It’s a building process and sometimes it takes baby steps, but we’ll get there.”

The Panthers were led in many statistical categories by either freshmen or sophomores this season including points with freshmen Gabe Clark and Landen Norris both averaging 9.2 points per game, rebounds with sophomore Jack Bertrand grabbing 107, Bertrand also led the Panthers in field goal shooting at 48%, Clark was tops in three point shooting at 34%, and the top four in free throw shooting were either freshmen or sophomores. Norris also led in steals with 21 and assists with 82.
