Central High Jumper Brock Lewis was named the American Rivers Conference Men’s Field Event Performer of the Week after winning the league’s Field Events Most Valuable Performer at the conference championship meet on Saturday.
Lewis was also named the 2021 Field Events MVP at the league’s indoor championships. This year, he won the long jump with a mark of 23 feet, 11.5 inches and was the runner-up in the triple jump (45-7.75). Lewis also gave Central 18 of their 118.5 team points, placing the Dutch fourth in the nine-team field. Lewis is one of three Dutch male athletes to win the field event performer of the week honor. Other winners of the award were thrower Theo Baldus and heptathlete Lucas Heitz.
A select group of Central’s team will attend the Wartburg Qualifier Friday and Saturday in Waverly to improve their marks for the NCAA Division III Championships.
