The Indianola boys basketball team’s season came to a sudden and unexpected end Friday night after getting upset by Urbandale in the substate semifinal round, but will have the opportunity to bring back the majority of the team for next season. The Indians featured just one senior in the starting lineup in Cooper Nailor, with the other seven members of the main rotation all in their junior seasons. Head coach Jeff Ebling tells KNIA Sports the Indians junior class can take the loss one of two ways, sulk and let it affect how they approach the offseason, or use it as fuel and work harder to not let it happen next year, and he knows the squad will choose option two. The Indians went 17-5 on the season and finished in second in the Little Hawkeye Conference with an 11-3 record.
