The Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad may have had three players average in double figures scoring the basketball this winter, another side to the Sabers was rebounding. Two girls have well over 100 rebounds and another was nearly in triple digits. Coach Zack Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he knew with the size he had coming this season that he needed not just rebounding but also get a few points in the paint as well.
Dunkin: “We really tried to get Jetta, Kisha, and Harlee Stout, who was our six man off the bench and we really needed to get them to score in the paint and also knowing their role for defense and rebounding, and I think they fulfilled those roles.
The rebounding leader was Kisha Reed at 167 good enough for 6th in the Bluegrass Conference, and Jetta Sterner was close behind at 147 which was 9th in the conference. Stout, off the bench, claimed 75 boards on the season. Twin Cedars finished 16-8, 4th in the Bluegrass Conference and was able to advance to the conference tournament championship game.
