The Knoxville Racing Charitable Organization held a fundraiser this past weekend.  KRCO President Maureen Nichols tells KNIA/KRLS about the event.

“We had a great turnout as the weather was in our favor. We had over 300 people served food. We had great auction items. We are not completely through our financials because we still have donations coming in and bills to pay out but we know we earned over $25,000 which is a huge increase over any year we have done this.”

Nichols talks about what’s next for the organization.

“Next is getting people lined up to help sell 50/50 tickets cause that’s the way we make our money and we are struggling. We need groups that are 501c3 then we give a donation to them for helping sell tickets.”

All proceeds go to driver insurance, safety equipment, and helping drivers when injured.
