The National Federation of State High School Associations has selected Pella’s Brent Van Hauen as their Coaches’ Association 2021 Iowa Track and Field Coach of the Year.

Van Hauen was recognized for leading the team to the school’s fourth ever team championship last spring. The Iowa High School Track and Field Coaches Association selected Van Hauen as the 3A Boys Coach of 2021, which earned him the nomination for the state award, given at the national level.

Van Hauen has led Pella to three team state championships since 2013 and several individual and relays titles.
