Pleasantville’s boys’ basketball squad added two new players to their starting lineup that led in key categories this season.
The Trojans were led primarily by Mason Scheve, who led the way averaging 25 points per game on 54% shooting, 41% from beyond the arc, and 79% from the free-throw line. Supporting Scheve were newcomers Andrew Pender and Dayson Leerhoff. Pender, who sat out last season after transferring, averaged 11 points and a team-leading four assists per game while shooting 40% from the field and 37% from three-point range. Leerhoff averaged a near-double-double for Pleasantville in his first year as a starter, averaging 13 points and a team-leading 9.7 rebounds a game on 54% shooting. Scheve, Pender, and Taylon Mount each averaged roughly two steals a game for the Trojans.
Pleasantville finished the 2021-22 season with a 12-10 record and a 9-7 record in West Central Conference play.
