Seven players will return for the Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad next season. With a couple of players in middle school Coach Zack Dunkin knows the numbers will be working against him. He tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the girls in the next few classes are not as numerous as in the past. He hopes to get more girls to come out for basketball knowing how successful the program was this season.

Dunkin: “My biggest priority for next year is to get to 10-12 girls on the team. We’ll have about 6-7 girls on the roster next year so we need about 6-8 more, so that’s one thing I’m going to prioritize for next year.”

Cheyanne Bruns will be the returning leading scorer for the Sabers at 10.9 points per game followed closely by Rylee Dunkin, who scored 10.2 per game. Kisha Reed was the leading rebounder for the Sabers at 167 and will return for her senior season while Bruns led in steals with 62. Twin Cedars finished 16-8 this season.
