The 15th annual Warren County Polar Plunge is tomorrow. Organizer Randy Spurr tells KNIA News participants can participate in many different ways even if they don’t wish to take the plunge, and making a team-theme can also be a good way to make it a fun event and raise money that goes right back into Special Olympics events and causes. Spurr also said Special Olympics Iowa is bringing in a special pool made specifically to take the plunge when the weather doesn’t cooperate, or there isn’t a site that will work. Lake Ahquabi, where the plunge normally takes place, is currently under construction by the Iowa DNR.
The event will take place at Norwalk United Methodist Church beginning at noon, with on-site registration taking place an hour beforehand. A post-plunge party will take place inside the church with food and refreshments provided. To learn more, click below.
