pleasantville-3

Pleasantville’s girls’ basketball squad finished with 11 wins of the season, and their best win of the year was against Earlham.

Coming into their January 11th showdown with the Cardinals, the Trojans had lost seven of the previous eight and last four matchups between the two squads. Pleasantville lost to Earlham December 3, 46-44, and were looking to salvage the split in the season series. In the first half, Pleasantville dominated defensively, not allowing Earlham to make a single shot from the field. All seven of Earlham’s points came at the free-throw line. On the other side, the Trojans got key buckets off the bench from freshmen Joelle Johnson and Hope DeMan. The highlight of the night was Adi Adreon’s four-point play to begin the fourth quarter.

Adreon finished with 11 points and six rebounds in the win. Malorie McKinney tallied a double-double with ten points and a season-high 17 rebounds in Pleasantville’s 49-35 win over the Cardinals. Overall, Pleasantville held Earlham to shooting just 21% from the field and 13% from three-point range.

Pleasantville finished the 2021-22 season with an 11-11 record and a 6-8 West Central Conference record.
