Iowa lawmakers passed a tax cut recently and Senator Amy Sinclair tells KNIA/KRLS News about the significance of the cut.
“With the signing of the tax bill we’ve taken Iowa from frankly one of the highest personal income tax states to what will be one of the lowest taxed states in the nation. I believe the 3.9% will make us the fourth lowest and that is a big deal. Iowa doesn’t have the weather to draw people to come and live here so we have to do everything we can from a policy standpoint to make that possible. One of the ways is to make sure our taxing situation brings individuals here to live and raise families.
